Kyknos White Marble
White Marble with Pale Grey Veining
Kyknos White Marble from Greece combines a white background with pale grey veins. Their position and prominence vary, giving individual pieces their own character.
For a design led by pale tones, Kyknos introduces natural detail while keeping the white ground central. Its restrained markings make that detail part of the surface rather than producing a completely uniform white.

White Surfaces Beside Other Finishes
White stone, white paint and a pale fabric do not necessarily read as the same white. Their texture and response to light can make a small difference noticeable when they meet. Compare them together under the room's lighting to decide whether you want a close tonal relationship or a deliberate contrast.
For a tabletop, this may be the relationship between marble and its base; for wall cladding, it may be the join with a painted wall or fitted cabinet. Choosing the neighbouring finish is therefore part of choosing the overall appearance, rather than an attempt to eliminate the stone's variation.
If vein movement is more important to the design, compare Volakas Marble, another Greek white marble with a different vein character.
Sheen, Use and Everyday Care
Choosing the Surface
Sheen offers Kyknos polished and honed. Polish introduces a more reflective surface; honing gives a softer sheen. On a pale marble, that difference can change how strongly nearby windows and lights appear in the face.
Furniture tops, walls and proposed floors place different demands on the surface. A wet floor needs an application-specific finish and installation assessment. Other finishes can be requested where appropriate to Kyknos and the intended use.
Looking After the White Marble
Use a neutral stone cleaner, remove grit before wiping and blot spills promptly. Coasters and protection beneath objects help reduce direct contact with drinks and abrasive surfaces.
Acidic liquids can etch the marble and change its sheen. Honing does not prevent this reaction, and a sealer does not make the surface acid-proof. Any sealing treatment should suit the selected stone and its use.
