White Wood Marble
White Wood Marble and Its Linear Markings
White Wood Marble is a natural stone from China with a pale background and fine, linear markings that resemble wood grain. The direction of those lines is a defining part of its character, rather than a pattern that reads the same way from every angle.
Sheen supplies it polished. For furniture and interior surfaces, its visual rhythm can be carried along a length, turned across a face or interrupted at a corner, with a different effect in each arrangement.

Direction Across Faces and Joins
Running the lines along a long surface reinforces its length; turning them across it makes the repeated markings more prominent. On adjoining pieces, alignment affects whether the surface reads as a continuous arrangement or as separate panels.
A corner brings two planes together. The line direction can change there, and the visible transition deserves attention alongside the face itself. Natural markings will not repeat exactly from one piece to another, even when their orientation is coordinated.
White Wood Within a Larger Composition
Furniture and adjoining materials
In a stone-and-glass composition, a clear top can leave the stone beneath visible, making the direction of its markings part of the whole piece. Keep the surfaces distinct in use: glass and stone have different cleaning requirements, and glass cleaner should not run onto the marble.
Interior surfaces
The linear pattern can provide an ordered visual element beside plain cabinetry or walls. Where other finishes also have a strong grain or pattern, consider whether their directions should align or deliberately change. For a different pale-stone character, compare the grey veining of Carrara Marble.
Polished Appearance and Finish Choice
Polish adds reflection to White Wood's linear surface. The reflected light changes with the viewing angle, while the underlying stone pattern remains; consider both when positioning a prominent face near lighting.
Alternative final finishes can be requested, subject to the material and intended application. For a proposed floor or wet location, establish a suitable finish for the conditions rather than selecting by sheen alone. The stonework service covers commissioned fabrication and installation once the material direction is established.
Looking After the Surface and Edges
Clean with a soft cloth and a neutral cleaner suitable for natural stone. Blot spills promptly and keep acidic or abrasive cleaners away from the marble. Acid can dull the surface through etching, which differs from a coloured stain.
Use coasters beneath drinks, keep grit off the stone and lift objects across exposed edges rather than dragging them. Any sealing treatment should be appropriate to the stone and its use; it does not prevent acid etching or make the surface stain-proof.
