Furniture, Architectural Surfaces and Custom Details
The scope covers three connected areas:
- Furniture: made-to-order tables, consoles and reception counters, where proportions, edges and visible faces shape the piece.
- Architectural surfaces: indoor and outdoor wall cladding, marble flooring and stairs, with the marble and installation detail selected for the setting.
- Custom details: display bases, planters and engraved marble features that give a specific function or identity to an interior.
A marble chosen for its appearance still needs to suit the application. Surface finish, support, exposure and maintenance requirements are considered alongside colour and pattern.
From Slab Layout to Fabricated Detail
Sheen Sculpture undertakes cutting, CNC work, engraving, polishing and hand finishing as part of its local fabrication and installation scope. These processes serve different decisions: where a slab is cut affects the pattern on each face, an edge profile changes the outline, and the placement of joints affects how adjoining surfaces read together.
CNC carving can give lettering and logos depth within a marble feature, while engraved detail introduces lines and motifs into its surface. On furniture and counters, angular or curved edge treatments help define the form. The scale and placement of these details should relate to the face carrying them, so a small motif and a larger branded feature need different treatment.
Sculptural Forms and Hand-Finished Detail
Sculptural stonework gives attention to the whole form: its silhouette, proportions, openings and transitions between faces. A strong marble pattern can become part of that composition, while a quieter selection places more emphasis on the shape.
Sheen Sculpture also undertakes hand-carved sculptures and hand-finished details. The material, scale, support and installation setting are assessed for each commission; carving and fabrication are chosen to suit the intended form.
Choosing Marble for the Form and Setting
A small sample helps establish colour, but a larger slab reveals the movement that will run across a tabletop, wall or counter. The direction of veining and the relationship between adjoining pieces can create a continuous pattern or a deliberate contrast. Finish changes how the surface reflects light and how the detail is seen.
Use and care matter too. Acidic spills and cleaners can etch marble and other calcareous stones, leaving dull marks. For a frequently used surface, willingness to follow the appropriate care routine matters as much as the initial appearance.
